I still don't understand how or why Monika is regarded as the best spy of the group when she hasn't done anything. In fact, I'm pretty sure every other character has done more than she has.

well tbf monika is actually the most skilled among them when it comes to spy skills though it's not shown in anime. e.g. when they first met klaus and he gave them the lock to lockpick, monika was the only one among them to actually open it within the 1 minute time limit.

there are other cases but we'll only really get to see how crazy strong she is later on in combat, whereas the other members have their own unique aspects they are skilled in that are more obvious.

That's the problem with this show, they SAY these girls have potential but we haven't seen much of anything from them.
It doesn't help that you only care for her and the others because they're all voiced by veteran voice actresses. This whole time this show spent on them trying to 1-up Klaus, could've been used to develop depth in the girls, maybe some training.

Yeah 3 episodes to go and not much has happened unfortunately. I think the problem is that they have too many main characters. Most of them don't get any screen time, development, or even dialogue. The only characters that I find captivating are Lily and Klaus.

But like I said, there are still 3 episodes to go so maybe they'll surprise us. I think the 6.28 score it currently has is a bit harsh. I don't think it's that bad. The OP and EDs are absolute bangers, the animation is pretty slick, the premise is cool, and it does have a lot of funny moments. I'm still enjoying it even though it's a bit underwhelming 😂

And considering we have a better spy anime in the form of Buddy Daddies this season, and the fact one of the best anime last year is SpyXFamily, that just hurts this show more. The score might be a bit harsh, but taking those two factors into account, I'd argue it's justified.

In addition to the characters, you only really care for them because of the celebrity cast voicing said characters from Aoi Yuuki, Ayane Sakura, Sora Amamiya, and Inori Minase to name a few. Heck, they're all definted by one trait. Heck, Lily is basically Aqua, considering they're both voiced by Amamiya.

Then you have the plot, which is a mess, the pacing isn't that good, and the fact we're relying on washout kids to do a mission that's not even impossible, when we haven't even seen them train at all, let alone their motivations on WHY they're spies to begin with. If this were either a slice-of-life CGDCT anime that happens to feature spies, or a comedy that focuses on a group of cute girls who are incompetent spies, I think the show could've benefitted a lot better.

To be honest, I'm not really concerned with the voice cast when I watch an anime. I 'do' have a favorite voice actor list on my MAL but 9/10 of them are english dub VA's (I know, I know, english dub isn't for everyone but I just don't believe in the whole "Sub is better than dub" thing 😓)

So when I care about a character, it's always for the character themselves. I'm a sucker for genki girls like Lily especially if they're the MC. But more to that, she brings a lot of comedic scenes into the show which is definitely needed since it's mostly been a snooze fest. Her design is cool as well. Lots of.... plot... to her character. Klaus is just straight up ridiculous in a good way.

Even though this show has been pretty dull, I can still tune in and enjoy myself 😊

I'd argue Sara and Erna are the most useless. Sure, Monika hasn't done much, but apart from her running her mouth, she's OK, but Sara and Erna?

With Sara, what use would we EVER need animals? Sure, we can have her send a pigeon to relay messages, but even then, Annette (eyepatch girl) can just build walkie talkies and other contraptions, making Sara redundant. Erna is a liability when you consider people around her in the past died, and um, how does one predict misfortune?

Lily and Thea have their uses, but I don't see much use for Lily unless a mission revolves around poison or stealing an antivirus. Plus she's an airhead. Thea has her looks, and can use her negotiating to get what she needs, but I feel like Sybilla and Grete would be better choices since Sybilla's good at stealing and grew up in a gang, and Grete can disguise herself.

To be fair, Erna was the secret weapon they used back in I think episode 3 when they completed their "Impossible mission" Had it not been for her, they would have died.

Sara is actually alright. She does use birds to literally give herself a birds eye view. I'm not sure how she does it... maybe attaches camera to them but yeah. Outside of spy work, she's the most productive in terms of taking care of the house. Monika.... just lazes around, doesn't wanna do anything, always talking down, blah blah blah. I hate her.

Considering the tech seen in the show, especially the designs of the cars, I'm not so sure cameras are even a thing yet, or if they are, they're the kind used to make black and white movies.

I'll admit, Erna DOES have some use, and she was the key to their mission that's not really impossible, I'll give you that. Her speciality COULD work but without more info I can't say much. Sara is alright, I agree. I do think given what we saw from her she could be some mix of a strategist and/or lookout while incorporating animals. Like using pigeons to relay intelligence, using dogs for all sorts of situations, maybe a bit of horse riding.

Erna is indeed pretty useless atm. Sara, on the other hand, her specialty is literally gathering intel for the missions with the help of her animals. Are you even watching the show in its entirety or merely selectively? Smh.

Monika isn't fit for this kind of mission. She is fit for espionage and surveillance missions. She is regarded as the best because she really specializes in what the traditional spy would do.

Oh look, a politician I don't hate, that's novel. While it's admirable that Uwe is actually looking to improve peoples' lives with his position, I think feeding himself healthily so that he can live longer to enact those policies is not the least bit wasteful
